Robert Downey Jr. Drawing

Title: Robert Downey Jr. drawing
Materials: pencils, blending utensil
I drew this for an art project in 9th grade. This was my first time experimenting with realism and value. I'm still very proud of this work, but I hope to be able to make art like this through observation, not just copying a picture.

100 Themes challenge- Beginning

Title: Beginning
Materials: iPad app "procreate"
This was a art work for a 100 Themes challenge that Nia and I found. The first prompt was "beginnings." I wanted to work on the Themes project because it seemed like a good exercise; getting a random prompt and working with it. It was quite fun to make and I hope to continue this side project when I have time.

Welcome to my art blog!

This art blog will consist of art works I admire, styles I hope to be able to try out and, most importantly, my own art. I hope to have many new pieces of work to show off here. In the meantime, these are some art works I admire:

This is an digital art piece by an artist on DeviantArt called Ceshira. I admire her skills with digital art and her coloring style.

This artist is very good at both cartoonish drawings and realistic drawings. Also from DeviantArt (called Daekazu). I'm not good at realistic colored drawings so I hope to be able to accomplish something like this in the future.

This person (naturalshocks from DeviantArt) has a really good knack for value and contrast. This was drawn on black paper. I usually can't work without outlines so this seems like an interesting thing to try to do.

Well, those are a few art pieces that caught my eye. I'll have some of my old and a few recent art works up and running soon. Thanks for reading!
